Tanu Kohli

She/Her/Hers

As Kidango’s Vice President of Support Services, Tanu Kohli leads the Early Intervention & Inclusion Services, Behavioral Health Intensive Services, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation, and the referral intake specialist teams, ensuring integrated, high-quality supports that strengthen outcomes for children, families, and staff across educational and therapeutic settings.

With more than 25 years of experience in special education, instructional leadership, and school administration, Tanu has dedicated her career to serving disadvantaged communities. A first-generation immigrant, she brings a deep, personal understanding of the challenges immigrant and historically underserved families face when navigating child care and school systems. This lived experience shapes her equity-driven leadership and commitment to access, inclusion, and systemic improvement.

Tanu holds a Master of Science in Special Education and multiple professional credentials, including a Clear Administrative Services Credential, Education Specialist Credential, Autism Authorization, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Credential. She previously served as Principal of Russo/McEntee Academy, where she led an award-winning school redesign recognized with a 2024 CSBA Golden Bell Award and earned distinction for inclusive and intervention-focused practices.

Tanu believes that equity in education is non-negotiable and that a child’s zip code should never define their destiny. At Kidango, she is proud to work alongside a dedicated team to change the narrative for the most vulnerable by delivering restorative, compassionate, and equity-centered services to students, families, and staff.
