Before-School
Kidango offers a before school program for children that helps them prepare for the upcoming school day, finish any unfinished school assignments with a teacher present to assist, socialize with their friends in a safe and welcoming environment, and participate in fun, educational and creative activities. Our program conveniently begins at 7:00 a.m. so parents who need an early start to their day will know that their children will be cared for in a safe and academically enriched program before school starts.

After-School
Kidango’s after-school program offers activities that are specifically designed to promote each child’s optimal development. The after-school program operates from the time children are let out of school until 6:00 p.m. Children are grouped by age and grade level during group activities to promote socialization skills with their peers and to develop friendships. Once the children arrive from class, they are invited to join teachers for snack time before starting their activities for the afternoon. Children have the opportunity to participate in our Academic Support program, play outside or participate in individual or group activities in the center’s Interest Areas. Typically, one will find the following Interest Areas in a Kidango school age program: Dramatic Play Center; Discovery Center for Science and Math Exploration; Art Center; Construction Zone Building Center, Music Center, Game Center and Literacy Center. Kidango teachers plan the curriculum each week based on child interaction, observations, information obtained from the child’s school-day teachers and emerging topics.

Summer
During the summer when school is not in session, the Kidango school age program operates from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our summer curriculum is child- focused, created with the children and designed with dedicated themes for each two week period. The various themes are incorporated throughout all components of the curriculum. The children engage in science and math projects, dramatic play, art, literacy and physical education that reflect each theme and build upon the children’s interests. The children in our summer program also have the opportunity to go on field trips that are both fun and educational to gain a greater understanding of the world and the themes incorporated throughout the weekly curriculum. The field trips also provide additional opportunities for the children to socialize with their teachers and peers in different environments to help promote the children’s social-emotional development.
