Infant/Toddler Care (Birth - 2 years)
[En Español]
Children are born with the desire and the capacity to learn. Infants and toddlers begin to perceive structure, order, permanence and predictability. Through simple sensory and motor experiences, children discover the basics of intellectual understanding.
In our Infant/Toddler Program, your child will benefit from a homelike and soothing environment. There are cribs for the non-mobile infants and separate soft cozy areas for the toddlers who are learning to walk. In our infant/toddler rooms, teachers play music, rub backs at nap time and spend quality time with each child to help create a homelike environment to recognize and appreciate the uniqueness of each child's personality, culture and background.
Center directors who supervise Kidango child development centers with infant/toddler programs are trained in the Program for Infant/Toddler Caregivers (PITC). PITC was developed by WestEd, a national leader in infant/toddler training and education, in collaboration with the California Department of Education, to help caregivers recognize the crucial importance of giving tender, loving care and assisting in the infants' intellectual development through an attentive reading of each child's cues.

The PITC training is critical for infant/toddler staff to understand the underlying basis of an infant’s/toddler’s developmental needs. Through our work with PITC, Kidango has developed programs that recognize the unique needs of children 0-3 years, emphasizing individualized, responsive care and using policies to foster strong, nurturing relationships between very young children, their caregivers and families. The concepts our teaching staff have learned and practice, as a result of our collaboration with PITC, promote strong attachments and social emotional development, as well as intellectual development in babies and toddlers.
Your tuition will include formula, cereal and baby food while your infant is in our care. Toddlers are provided with breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks on a daily basis. We ask our parents to provide their own diapers, bottles and sheets /blankets to keep their children as comfortable as possible.
