Classroom Environments
[En Español]
The atmosphere in Kidango centers and classrooms is friendly, welcoming, and home-like, providing children with a sense of belonging. Kidango classrooms feature visual displays of children’s individual work and the collaborative projects they create, as well as photographs of the children, their families, and their world.
Our classrooms are divided into quiet and active areas. Quiet areas often have quilts on the walls, pillows, soft toys and chairs for children and adults to sit together. We also create space for children to be alone and work individually. Shelving arrangements allow for the separation of quiet and active activities, and define interest areas. Because Kidango teachers truly care about children and families, our classroom environments are happy, warm places where children feel safe and secure.

Our program provides developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant learning environments to promote social interaction between children and support your child’s developing sense of independence and his/her capabilities. Our classrooms consist of Key Interest Areas that relate to the planned curriculum, are clearly defined, and promote a variety of learning experiences for your child. All educational materials, manipulatives and toys are age appropriate, attractive, inviting, relevant to children's experiences and cultures and easily accessible to children of all abilities. Educational materials and toys also become increasingly complex as the children's cognitive skills develop to promote problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Kidango is dedicated to providing centers that are safe and free of hazards. We adhere to all California Occupational Safety and Health Act (Cal-OSHA), Title 22, Title 5, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, Head Start performance standards; NAEYC accreditation standards; and State playground safety regulations. In all our centers, we utilize a detailed checklist covering health and safety standards, which staff use to check their programs daily and for quarterly reviews.
All Kidango Child Development Centers are licensed by Community Care Licensing with the state of California. Meeting Community Care Licensing regulations ensures that all Kidango Child Development Centers meet quality assurance licensing guidelines.
