Developmental Assessment

[En Español]

Assessments are an integral part of how Kidango meets the developmental needs of children. Kidango fully implements Desired Results for Children and Families, as outlined by the California Department of Education/Child Development Division (CDE/CDD).

A Desired Results Developmental Profile-Revised (DRDP-R) assessment is administered by Kidango teaching staff and completed for each child twice per year, including once within the first 60 days of a child’s enrollment. Information gathered from this assessment helps us understand where your child is developmentally and how we can ensure your child reaches her or his greatest potential.

The group data gathered from the DRDP-R is used to design both classroom-specific and individual child-specific curriculum that supports appropriate cognitive, social-emotional, language and physical development for all children attending Kidango child development programs. The information gathered from these assessments guide us in implementing curricular activities that are age and linguistically appropriate, culturally supportive and designed to accommodate variation in rates of development with attention to individual learning styles and abilities.

The results of the DRDP-R are shared with each child’s family. Each family is provided opportunities to discuss their child’s progress and set goals with the child’s primary teacher.
