Kidango teachers promote social and emotional learning using the “Pyramid Model.” The Pyramid Model is a nationally recognized program endorsed by the California Department of Education. Kidango teachers use Pyramid Model strategies to help children learn to recognize and express their emotions. It focuses on establishing positive relationships with children, families, and co-workers to support learning, supporting children in self-regulation, and making friends. The Pyramid Model curriculum also develops problem-solving skills and an awareness of children’s behaviors. Additionally, these strategies foster resilience and empathy, both crucial for school and life.
