Instructions and Deadlines


CARES Round 7 – 2008

Begin early to collect transcripts, make an appointment with a CARES College Representative to develop or update a PDEP, and begin the process of obtaining, upgrading, or renewing a permit, if needed.

A California Child Development Permit (permit) is required for all returning applicants. New applicants may submit a permit, a Temporary County Certificate (TCC), or evidence of having applied for a permit by the CARES deadline of June 16, 2008.

Important Dates to Remember

• April 1, 2008 –- Applications are mailed
  
• June 16, 2008 –- Applications are due to partner agencies
  
• September 19, 2008 –- Stipend checks are distributed
  
• October 17, 2008 –- Appeals are due
  
• November 17, 2008 –- Final appeals determinations are made
  
• On or before September 17, 2007 –- Start date with current employer
  
• June 16, 2007 to June 16, 2008 –- Complete Leadership activities, Professional Development activities, and Professional Development and Education Plan (PDEP)
